01 / The challenge

A problem
worth understanding.

Commerce teams manage orders, inventory, and exceptions across separate systems. Small gaps in visibility can become repeated manual work.

An operations dashboard that brings order status and fulfillment priorities together, making exceptions easy to understand and act on.

  • Order and fulfillment overview
  • Actionable exception states
  • Searchable operational records
  • Inventory and channel visibility
02 / Behind the idea

Make exceptions visible

Forma explores a practical interface for the team behind a commerce business. Instead of presenting every available metric, the dashboard separates a useful overview from the orders that need attention.

Status labels work alongside color, and the layout keeps operational context close to the next action. Financial figures shown in the visual are illustrative sample data.

An engineering approach

A production implementation would keep a durable history of order changes and process incoming provider events idempotently. External payment and fulfillment states would be reconciled with internal records rather than assumed to be identical.

Server-side permissions, audit records, and explicit error states would support a safer operational workflow. Integration failures would be visible and recoverable.

What this concept demonstrates

Operational information design, commerce domain thinking, exception handling, and reliable integration patterns. This is an independent concept, not a claim about an existing client product.
